Advanced Graduate Certificate Program in Computer Science

WPI's Advanced Graduate Certificate Program provides master's degree recipients with an opportunity to continue their studies in advanced topics in the disciplines in which they hold their graduate degree. Students have the benefit of academic advising, without committing to a full graduate degree program. The program consists of a set of five courses (minimum), none of which were included in the students formal master's program of study. The courses may either include a breadth or a depth option, and may be customized to satisfy a students unique needs. The program of study is reviewed and approved by the student's academic advisor. Upon completion of the required course work, students are awarded a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in their particular program of study.

Other opportunities for advanced study, such as Certificate Programs, are described in the Graduate Catalog, as well as in the Graduate Studies admissions material.

Note: CS 525 (Special Topics in Computer Science) may be used to satisfy advanced certificate requirements. Some CS 525 topics appear below. Additional topics that satisfy certification program requirements may be offered. In addition, CS 598, Directed Research (or, where appropriate, EE 598), can be used to satisfy requirements.

Note: Changes to Network-related Courses that will appear starting with the 1999-00 Graduate Catalog make some of the information below incorrect. *** The major change is that CS 576 is now replaced by CS 530.
