A $1.5 Million Science Tutoring System

CS research associate professor Janice Gobert is the principal investigator for a new five year NSF grant awarded to a team that includes Neil Heffernan (CS) and Carolina Ruiz (CS), and Ryung Kim (MA). They will continue her and Neil Heffernan's ongoing work on Intelligent Tutoring Systems, by developing a system that helps students learn science by using computer simulations of scientific experiments. The system will keep track of how well students do with their experiments, will guide them, and will monitor and evaluate their performance.
