First Lee A. Becker Memorial Scholarships

The Computer Science Department is pleased to announce the that the first recipients of the The Prof. Lee A. Becker Memorial Scholarship are Marie Russo '07, Danielle Martin '06, Carsten Winsnes '06 and Ramon Harrington '07.
The awards, given in support of travel and other expenses associated with off-campus undergraduate projects, were awarded by Dr. Ying Becker, Lee's widow. The Lee Becker Memorial Fund was founded from donations in Lee's memory provided by colleagues and friends.
The awards reception was held on Thursday, February 23rd 2006 at 5:00 p.m. in the Gordon B. Lankton Lounge, 3rd Floor, Fuller Labs. A welcoming address was given by Prof. Michael Gennert, CS department head, and additional comments were made by Prof. Paul Davis Dean, Interdisciplinary & Global Studies Division. Natalie A. Mello, Director of Global Operations was also in attendance.
The four students are heading to the Silicon Valley Project Center, and the Budapest, Hungary project center.
