ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest
October 2005
WPI recently sent two teams to compete in the ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC). They took part in the five hour preliminary round on 29th October 2005 at Western New England College.
Unfortunately WPI did not qualify for the regionals held on November 5th at RIT.
The make-up of our two teams was:
WPI Team 1
- Dave Anderson (Third Year)
- James Baldassari (Grad Student)
- Alin Sirbu (Second Year)
WPI Team 2
- Abe Lourenco (Fourth Year)
- Andrei Paduroiu (Third Year)
- Andrey Sklyar (Second Year)
The advisor and coach for the teams is Prof. Rob Lindeman, who is in his first year at WPI, and is very enthusiastic about the contest. He points out that with so many young contestants, this bodes well for our teams in the coming years.
