Professor of Practice

The CS department is pleased to announce that Michael (Mike) J. Ciaraldi has joined us as a Professor of Practice.

Mike Ciaraldi started programming computers in 1967, using FORTRAN II on an IBM 1130. Since then he has earned degrees in physics and computer science, built his own computer, taught computer science at three universities, run a one-man consulting company, and developed software in areas ranging from process control, to telecommunications, to stock-picking. He comes to us from a position as senior software engineer at Lucent Technologies.

The Professor of Practice rank enables experienced professionals to share their particular industrial/business expertise and experience on a full-time basis with the WPI community. Mike Ciaraldi will be the fourth person at WPI to be appointed at this rank.
