Computers, Accounts and Quotas
The department has a variety of computing facilities, using UNIX-based and Microsoft operating systems.
Accounts at WPI Computer Science
Undergraduates are usually not provided with an account on the CS graduate or research computers, unless by special request. For example: in connection with an MQP, or for the use of special software associated with a particular course.
Graduates are provided with accounts on CS Unix and Microsoft Windows systems. Request an account by going to the CS Office in Fuller Labs (room 233) and filling out an account request form.
Accounts on machines in the Research labs must be obtained via the appropriate lab coordinator - usually a faculty member in the associated Research Group.
Additional Quotas for Undergraduate CS Majors
We have phased out the "special" CS undergrad disk area which existed on CCC machines in the past. CCC has greatly expanded the amount of diskspace that is made available to all undergraduates. (May 1999)
