Graduate Council
The purpose of the Graduate Council is to provide a structured, informal process and environment to resolve problems, initiate activities, and foster cooperation between the CS faculty and all CS department graduate students - both supported and non-supported.
The Graduate Council consists of two faculty and three invited graduate students reflecting the range of graduate students in the department. The Council meets on a regular basis to discuss relevant graduate student issues and highlight these issues to department faculty, the department head and others at WPI as appropriate. In addition, student representatives on the Council can bring issues to the Council.
The expectation is that the Council can help to resolve issues that were not successfully resolved through direct contact with faculty or staff, help students identify existing channels to address their concerns, and help in creating such channels when they do not exist. The Graduate Council will respect confidentiality of issues brought to it and if these issues require reporting to the larger Department community then anonymity of the individuals involved will be preserved.
The current members of the Graduate Council are:
- Jeremy Denham <jdenham@cs.wpi.edu>
- Leena Razzaq <leenar@cs.wpi.edu>
- Prof. Carolina Ruiz <ruiz@cs.wpi.edu>
- Andrey Sklyar <skyar@cs.wpi.edu>
- Prof. Mathew O. Ward <matt@cs.wpi.edu>
