Spacial Data Integration Agents

Abstract

The aim of the presentation will be to summarize the initial stages of development of a distributed self-updating GIS system. A combination of mobile and stationary agent technology is considered as a potential solution to problems of integration and interoperability of distributed geospatial data. Agents are also expected to provide natural means for facilitating autonomous collection and integration of data from multiple sources, including web-based repositories,into a single database system for subsequent retrieval and analysis.
