Profs. Lee Becker, David Brown, Kathi Fisler and Carolina Ruiz

Each professor will discuss current research and problems being worked on.

Summary of research interests:

Prof. Becker:
Artificial intelligence, object-oriented analysis and design, visual communication. Professor Becker is interested in machine learning and cognitive modeling. He is currently investigating cooperative induction and a visual interlingua.
Prof. Brown:
Knowledge- based design systems, artificial intelligence. Professor Brown's research is concerned with all aspects of knowledge-based design.
Prof. Fisler:
Formal methods in computer-aided verification and diagrammatic reasoning. Professor Fisler is investigating timing diagrams as a formal logic for reasoning about hardware systems and protocols.
Prof. Ruiz:
Data mining, knowledge discovery in databases, machine learning. Professor Ruiz's research focuses on algorithms for the discovery of patterns in data, with applications to bioinformatics and electronic commerce.
