This talk will review my pedagogical philosophy while including a short (but non-technical) example of my teaching. The "mock" presentations will draw material from a course for CS graduate students on "Teaching CS". The intended "audience" will be graduate students or any undergraduate thinking of going on to become an educator.
The first 30 minutes will be somewhat informal, and will address "general" views in teaching CS -- much like the overview presented in the first lecture of the teaching CS course. To allow the talk to cover the interview objectives, this part will include more of my personal views and ellicit less audience participation than an actual class.
The second part of the talk, intended to more closely match at least one of my teaching styles, will be a more detailed look at an important component of any course -- the topic of "Grading and Curves". While this sounds, at first glance, like a topic every graduate student would know cold, you may find a few surprises. Students can expect to actually learn something that will be useful when they teach and that is often useful even outside of the classroom.
