Grecu earns Ph.D. & Award

The Computer Science Department recently awarded its ninth Ph.D. degree to Dan L. Grecu. The advisor was David Brown.

On Wednesday, 19th April 2000 Dan successfully defended his thesis in public before the Ph.D. committee. His thesis, "Flexible Learning in Multi-Agent Systems", describes the role of expectations in multi-agent design systems, and how expectations can be acquired, validated and used.

Dan began his studies in Computer Science at WPI in the fall of 1993, having come to the US from Romania on a Fullbright scholarship.

Dan Grecu's dissertation won WPI's Ph.D. Research Award this year, sponsored by WPI chapter of Sigma Xi. It was awarded at the Faculty Awards Convocation. See the WPI Press Release.
