Undergraduates Win Prizes: May 2000
The CS department is please to announce the following awards:
The winner of the 2000 "Dr. Neil J. Sullivan '83 Memorial Scholarship" is Frederick Tan.
Co-recipients of the award for Computer Science Outstanding Senior are Ben Clark, Charles Homic, and Christine Lawrence.
The winner of the Computer Science Outstanding Junior Award is Paul Calnan .
The winners of the 99-00 Provost's MQP Award for Computer Science are:
- Matthew J. Streeter '00
- "NVIS: An Interactive Visualization Tool for Neural Networks"
- Advisors: Matthew O. Ward, Sergio A. Alvarez
- Joel Bilodeau '00, Brian Carelli '00, Bill Harnois '01, Devon Reed '00
- "DyDa: Dynamic Data Warehouse Management System"
- Advisor: Elke A. Rundensteiner
In addition, both of the Sigma Xi Research awards were won by CS graduate students. The PhD award went to Dan Grecu (Advisor: David Brown), while the MS award went to Dan Bailey (Advisor: Christof Paar).
