The DKBRG Home Page

The Data/Knowledge Base Research Research Group (DKBRG) holds regular meetings with participation by students and Professors.

The topics covered in these meetings are diverse, ranging from visualization of information, visual interfaces, image analysis, mediator architectures, data warehousing, spatial databases, distributed database querying, and object- oriented databases.

The DKBRG Lab, Fuller 319, is equipped with a network of Pentium II workstations including several 400MHz workstations and other multimedia enhanced PCs. The lab is also equipped with an NT server named Shiba equipped with a 300MHZ PentiumII processor and 256MB memory. It runs an Oracle-8 database server to provide database services. Shiba is also a place to share software, such as the PSE database student-generated source code. The group also uses Davis, an SGI workstation in the Image Science lab that has two 180MHZ IP27 processors, 128 MB memory, and an 8 Giga hard-drive. It serves as a file server and web server for the DKBRG group.

Members of the DKBRG group were successful at receiving several grants recently, including an NSF equipment grant.
