This project evaluated the effectiveness of using multicast over unicast data transmission for multimedia applications on a network. This was accomplished by building a simulated network on top of the existing WPI network, sending data across this network using multicast and unicast data transmission, and measuring the performance of each. Our results show that multicast data transmission out performs unicast in the areas of jitter, delay and synchronization.
