Multimedia applications can enhance information delivery, especially over a Wide Area Network (WAN). However, researchers lack tools needed for end-to-end exploration of WAN multimedia performance. This project creates an experiment-based library that simulates the end-to-end performance of multimedia over a WAN. We find only limited correlation among the experimental data. Thus, the library simulations are based on the data traces. Regardless, researchers can use our library to study the effects of WAN networks on multimedia performance.
