EvLag Demo Instructions

1. Download and install VirtualBox:

   https://www.virtualbox.org/

2. Download the EvLag Demo VirutalBox image (4 Gbytes):

   https://web.cs.wpi.edu/~claypool/papers/evlag/evlagDemo.ova

   Note: the image has been tested for VirtualBox v6.1

3. Double-click on the downloaded “evlagDemo.ova” file.

   • Or, open VirtualBox and select “File” → “Import Appliance” and select the “evlagDemo.ova” file.

4. Click “Import”.

5. Allow VirtualBox to import the file.

6. Select “evlagDemo” and click the green “Start” arrow.

7. Important! Click “Input” → “Mouse Integration” to disable mouse integration (it is on by default).

   Below are screen shots to help ensure the setting right settings:

8. In the Linux Desktop, double-click “evlagDemo.sh”.

   • Note: if the screen is to small (like this), the resolution can be increased by right clicking on the Desktop → “Display Settings” → “Resolution” and making it larger (like this).

9. The demo runs the below applications with EvLag serially:

   A. Paint with no lag to all mouse actions.

   B. Paint with some (50 ms) of lag to all mouse actions.

   C. Paint with a lot (500 ms) of lag to all mouse actions.

   E. Text Editor with a raw EvLag log file.

   F. Text Editor with a parsed (by EvParse) EvLag log file.
