CS 1102 (A16): Transferring to CS 1101

See FAQ for a general discussion of the relationship between CS 1102 to CS 1101.

You may transfer (drop CS 1102 and add CS 1101) at any time on or before Monday, Sept. 12. Although this is after the general deadline (Sept. 8) for dropping courses, you will not be charged a late fee by special arrangement with the Registrar. To help you in making a decision, there will be a brief diagnostic (pass/fail) quiz in class on Friday, Sept. 9.

To transfer, you must do the following THREE steps:

  1. Let your current homework partner know you are transferring (or planning to transfer), so they are not left high-and-dry working on the current homework alone (think of yourself in their shoes!).

  2. Send an email to cs1102-staff at cs.wpi.edu AND cs1101-staff at cs.wpi.edu to let us know you are transferring, so we can update our records and re-assign current and new homework partners.

  3. Bring a completed add/drop form (get blank one at the Registrar's office or online) to Prof. Hamel to sign and turn the signed form in to the Registrar's office. You can find Prof. Hamel either during her office hours or at the start or end of her CS 1101 lectures in Perrault Upper Hall, Fuller Labs.

Note that you need to choose both a lecture time and a lab section for CS 1101 that fit into your schedule. There are CS 1101 lectures at 9am, 10am and 1pm. Please choose the 10am lecture if it fits into your schedule (to leave room in the 9am lecture for other students with conflicts). Visit the registrar's site for more information.

Your grade in CS 1101 will depend only on your subsequent performance (quizzes, exams, and homework) in CS 1101.
