Project Proposal

I will write a plug-in for 3d Studio to create butterfly wing patterns. The plug-in will use the fractal method for butterfly wing patterns talked about in Fractal pattern for a butterfly wing by Dai, Chang and Shih. I also hope to modify their method to include some of the techniques that I have read about in other papers on the subject. The output of this plug-in will be a graphic of a butterflies wings with whatever pattern I manage to make my plug-in create. Originally I wanted to write something that would implement all the techniques I’ve found to make butterfly patterns but this was too ambitious so I have toned it down.
