CS3133: Foundations of Computer Science

This course provides an introduction to the theoretical issues of computer science. Computer science theory includes the various models of finite state machines, both deterministic, nondeterministic, and concepts in formal language theory.

Welcome to the Fall 2006 Class!

The class will consist of a number of modules, each with a homework. The homeworks may be done in groups or individually. I strongly recommend working in groups. However, you must write the solutions yourself. Your homework should not "look like" anyone else's. The exams will be based on, but not identical to, the homeworks. If you haven't worked out the problems for the homeworks yourself or with others, you will have a hard time passing the exams.

LATE POLICY: Work must be turned in on time.

HONESTY POLICY: Copied work will receive a 0, and be reported to the administration. Become familiar with WPI's Academic Honesty Policy
